Financial Accountant / Manager London Salary: GBP Highly competitive Bonus Benefits

Financial Accountant / Manager - Role

Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, based in London, the successful Financial Accountant / Manager candidate will be responsible for assisting in the managing of the finance function and providing a framework to ensure that the standards of excellence are achieved and consistently delivered across the group. He/She will assist with financial reporting and control, meeting the reporting requirements and working over improvement of financial control across the group.

Financial Accountant / Manager – Responsibilities

• Preparation of group consolidation and individual company accounts on a monthly basis

• Assist in meeting external and internal reporting deadlines, maintaining the integrity of information

• Assist with accounting functions including Balance Sheet reconciliations

• Review, assess and recommend improvements to internal control systems and procedures ensuring appropriate documentation

• Spearhead and supervise the rollout of the consolidation to all entities (both local and overseas) under Moneybookers group, working and liaising with each overseas office

• Review group consolidation adjustments and other individual company entries and transactions escalating the issues to finance managers for rectification/clarification

• Support and liaise with senior accounting personnel in the production of effective, timely and relevant management and financial reporting information

• Coordinate and liaise with internal and external parties in relation to group consolidation, audit requirements and deliverables

• Manage, supervise, coach and develop finance staff in the proper execution of their respective roles and functions

• Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of the finance function and seek to improve

• Drive process and systems efficiencies in all areas of responsibility.

• Review and critically assess current systems in order to assess and recommend ways to achieve maximum optimization

Financial Accountant / Manager – Education/Experience

• Bachelor of Accounting or equivalent, ACCA preferred

• Experience of working in a financial services company

Financial Accountant / Manager – Candidate

• Strong knowledge of financial reporting requirements

• Up to date knowledge of Financial Accounting Standards including IFRS and UK GAAP

• Hands-on, proactive, takes initiative in problem solving - can work under pressure and meet deadlines

• Ability to multi task/Strong organizational skills

• Able to listen, influence and work in a team

• Ability to discuss financial issues with both fellow professionals and those with little or no financial background

• Willingness to work a flexible schedule
